Lisa Windsor promoted to IT Division Director

Atlanta – July 29, 2010 – Executive search and professional placement firm firstPRO has promoted Lisa Windsor to IT Division Director in preparation for an Atlanta expansion that calls for doubling technology staffing revenue within two years.

Windsor, who oversees sales and recruiting for the Atlanta market, has been in the staffing industry for 14 years. She was previously a senior account manager at firstPRO.

Windsor said firstPRO is expanding its IT operations because the firm sees a resurging demand for technology talent.

“After a long lull, the market is shifting,” Windsor said. “Companies that held off on new IT projects are finding they can’t hold off any longer—due to an improving economy, increasing competition, and rapid changes in technology. We are seeing tremendous demand right now for top IT professionals.”

In particular, she said, firstPRO has received a high number of requests for Java and .Net developers.

Another positive IT trend she sees is more demand from employers for direct-hire, or permanent, candidates. In a down economy, employers unsure of the market tend to hire more temporary contract workers.

CEO April Nagel said Windsor has the “perfect blend” of recruiting, sales and technology experience to lead firstPRO’s IT expansion.

Windsor is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology. She’s held several staffing leadership roles, including Regional Manager at Olsten Staffing services, Area Director at Ajilon and Branch Manager at Robert Half.

During the first quarter, firstPRO IT placements in Atlanta were up 27.4 percent from the same quarter last year, according to the firm’s Inside Hiring Report. Nationwide, layoffs by IT firms through the first half of 2010 were down 70 percent compared to a year ago, according to a recent report by placement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas.
